Chit chat

Gooooodmorning and happy Friday! With the due date approaching so soon and things are being wrapped up, today we met into groups to decide what needs to be changed and get constructive criticism.

From speaking with several peers, I decided that my two-page spread needs a background image because it appears to be too bland. I also changed the size of the letters and numbers on my table of contents. These group critiques are beyond helpful in learning what needs to be done differently and what is being done correctly. My peer showed me how to use Canva more into detail so I will play around with it a little more. Hearing what I am doing wrong gives me more ideas and imagine my project in different ways. Knowing I can do better is what pushes me to reach my 100 percent potential. Looking at others blogs and project wether it is a film opening or magazine, I collected insight and ideas.

My Creative Critical Reflection is coming up and I need to build a script and create some research to address all areas needed to deeply reflect upon my work. When speaking in my critical reflection I don't want it to be bland and boring. I want it to stand out and make my project a whole. So basically I want it to have a certain pop that draws attention and doesn't allow my viewers to lose focus.

With this upcoming weekend I will be finishing up my project and doing my creative critical reflection.  This is what my schedule for the final week looks like but my final product and reflection should be posted before Sunday night.
Week Seven (Final Week)
- Two postings
- Double check and perfect all areas of magazine (Cover page, table of contents, and two-page spread)
- Finalize Creative Critical Reflection and post on blog
- Last and final post should be a link to and/or embedded final project

Letting it out!

With technology on the rise and people becoming more invested in it and lazier. I would distribute my magazine through a few ways.
A) I would create an online version which would be sold for an exceptional price and also offer a subscription box

B) I would also let it be sold in grocery stores by the checkout aisles and gas stations.

C) I also would like to offer a few copies outside the gym so people could get a feel of what the magazine will entail.

D) I would lastly offer the magazine at magazines to be able to get a small peak of.

A huge part of distribution is meeting the needs of your target audience and what they want in society. I think that if I offer what people want it will be more accessible and attainable. I would like to also pair with another company which is remained undecided to have a preview of my magazine on their site or in their pages (maybe Cosmopolitian or Vogue). Keeping a preview of my magazine will bring attention and draw the attraction of my target audience.

The ship is docking soon..

Throughout my project I have developed many production skills. Along the way I have failed attempts with the ideas creating throughout my head and I have succeeded in many aspects such as building my magazine and color schemes. In the magazine I changed what I wanted to originally start with which was simply workouts to indulging in all aspects of fitness for women.

Today I have made a whole change to my two-page spread changing the article. I also added yellow to the cover page and included my two colors throughout my table of contents.
This magazine has developed well throughout the seven weeks and is slowly coming to an end and beginning touch ups. The image below shows the yellow on my cover page and the yellow on my table of contents.

Tomorrow I will complete my last images and put them onto my magazine and begin my Creative Critical Response which will be a video addressing: 1. How my magazine challenge conventions and how it represented a social group or issue 2. How my product engages with audiences and how it would be distributed as a real text 3. How my production skills developed throughout my project 4. How I integrated technologies throughout my project. I also will address the struggles I faced and obstacles I over came.

Friday I have a group critique coming up which I will get all the feed back I want and make all last changes on my project before our final date which is April 14th. My project should be posted up before then to make sure all is working out.

Hopping you had an awesome Easter!

Today I took some images of fruit for the image space of my table of contents, I added more color and played around with the edits I had on an app called VSCO  which brought my image immense amount of color in my opinion.
This is the original image

This is the edited one

So I put it into my table of contents and decided to mix it up with the images like I spoke about in my last blog posting and this is how it looks inserted

I also included a little watermelon icon on the top which I thought was super cute and adds a little kick into things. Also on my two page spread I included an icon of two bananas which adds a little more because I did not want an image there but I did not want it to be tooo bland.

The final days

With everything coming up so soon such as holidays and exams and an approaching dead line, I am completing the last few things needed.

This morning I went to the sunrise to take images with a couple of people I know. I wanted some fitness looks but at the same time I want to include happiness and fitness in other forms. So we took some yoga images and ballet images on the beach.
I plan on putting around six images on my table of contents so I will include two of healthy foods, two of images of the ones I took yesterday, and two images of gym workouts. So I had these two images chosen for the table of contents.

This is how the first two images sit on the table of contents and as of now I like it. Although I am not sure if I would like to mix and match it so when I include my other images next week I will play around with it and figure out which looks best. I am also wondering if I should include yellow or teal in my table of contents.
